Choices choices choices

Dear all,

I am spoilt by choices. I would like to make a linux cluster with 4 servers and one load balancer. I need HA and failover, NAT etc etc. My loadbalancer will be the director. It is running on centos.

Options:

1. LVS. To do this, I have to install LVS package, then install keepalived and then ipvsadm, and do the NAT. Right?

2. RedHAt cluster. I install the cluster. And then install piranha. Do i need to install keepalived etc?

3. Ultramonkey. I Install LVS first, then unzip the ultramonkey package.

I am not sure how is what or what needs to be done first and what is the best option...

Some help please please please..

I agree that there are too many choices availble to us today. I do know for sure that a simple machine is a reliable machine and one that is easily maintained and repaired if it breaks.

Keep these in mind when designing your system. If it is not absolutely necessary, do not put it in!! After you get the basic system running perfectly, that is, the minimum required to do the job, add the other stuff later, after a system backup, of course.....
