Checking CPU Usage

Can someone please tell me how i can check the CPU usage of processes that are running. My system does not recognise top and i can't seem to get the CPU usage using the ps command. Is it possible that you can provide the correct syntax. Many thanks

Well find top, itis probably there. Try /usr/bin/top You didn't say which distro you use so try either ps aux or ps -ef
