Unhappy Check UI logins with wget

Hi All,

I want to create a script which check access to application which requires a username and password with a shell script thereby saving some time doing menial task.

UI login is authenticated with Oracle SSO, application in itself is deployed in OAS 10g server.

so when i type a url say http://myapplication.com/index.jsp it redirects to url b http://authentication.com/index.jsp which actually does the authentication and then if it is successfully authenticated it grants access to url a, can you please guide me on how to achieve this?

You help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a matter of filling in fields on a web page using a script (and doing more things afterwards maybe)?

@SAbhi

If you want to help, you can instead of judging me ! It appears to me that it won't be possible with bash !!!!

@casualfred,
Yes we need to enter data that is our credentials and then getting authenticated and then coming back to main application. The flow is as follows:
mail application webpage (redirects you to ) authentication page which after authentication gives access to main application page.

I am guessing that this may not be possible.

No one is here to judge, but to help... and for that you have to help yourself. Asking for all cooked stuff will make you dependent for ever while trying on own right or wrong is always a better option.

Well... so you just want to check if the authentication is successful or not .. is that correct ?

I can see your application is built on java.
A way to achieve what you want is through "telnet" (i have tried it on some tomcat applications but as i don't know much on your requirement ..i can only provide you steps to try this.. )
send a "get HTTP1.1 " string
Authenticate the operation by using expect and send
and check for the return code.

it can be done in some other ways too but for that we should know what you are actually looking for.
