check packages built from source

To all,

Is there a way to determine which programs have been built from source? I guess i could just go to /bin or /usr/bin, but thats long hand.

Is there a command like "rpm -qa | grep filename" i could use for this purpose?

Thx alot

No, your RPMDB covers what's installed using the package manager so the reverse, as in 'rpm -qf /path/to/something 2>&1>/dev/null||echo NO' should work. While that may work fine for binaries in $PATH dirs, be careful with things in other dirs as they may be created during for example %post install scripts.
