check existing process


In my system , I wonder a process is still running because I found that it locks something , I use the command "ps -ef" but can not find anything , can advise is there any method that can show / check all process ?

Well if you have some idea of the process/program's name

Or give us an example/more information

I have remove a file , but the disk space is not release , I guess it is due to the remove process is still locking .

as long as there is a process accessing that file the file will not be removed, just the entry in the directory. Such files (inodes) are really hard to identify.
