Changing the process order

hi I'm new to this forum and I just installed Kubuntu v6.06 on my computer, so my problem is this: I own an Ackteck wireless keyboard and mouse connected directly to a usb port and mouse port but the problem is that my PC starts grub before it mounts the keyboard so I'm not able to select an option from the menu displayed and enter another OS.

Having said that my question is how can I change the process order so that it mounts the keyboard first and then load the grub screen? cos I don't want to change the boot order and then not be able to enter to linux

Welcome to LQ!

Basically, the boot process is to do the POST, then load GRUB which starts the Linux boot process.

Does your keyboard work in the BIOS? From what I can see, you need to enable USB keyboards and then it should work fine.

I hope this helps

thanks Ian XD, it does correctly the power-on self tests since I can use my keyboard at the Bios but when the select OS grub screen takes place it just stops working, even the blue light of the receptor turns off those five seconds and it turns on again when Kubuntu is loading specifically when it mount the root filesystem, my idea was not to kill that process at the beginning or something like that

<EDIT>

this was really strange I configured the BIOS to handle USB connections (periphereals) with my USB keyboard!, and then it worked perfectly with grub haha well thats a relief, thanks Ian!!
