Changing the mouse pointer?

Does anyone know how to change the default mouse pointer in xwindows? I installed Red Hat 7.3 and my mouse pointer looks like it's from the days of the early MAC OS (in other words...it's butt ugly). I don't think xwindows under Red Hat 7.2 had a pointer like this. So, any suggestions on how to make the pointer more attractive?

Thanks,
Jon

look at the names of pointers here...

/usr/X11R6/include/X11/cursorfont.h

here is one way to set it in ~/.Xclients or one of these...

/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.enlightenment
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.fvwm
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.gnome
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.kde
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.toplevel
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.twm
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.windowmaker

xsetroot -cursor_name cursorname

check out this too

xfd -fn cursor

and this

man xsetroot
