Changing resolution on RH

Newbie question... How do I change the screen resolution on a RH Enterprise 8.0 system? Or any Linux system in general?

you can change resolutions with "CTRL" + "ALT" + "NumKeypad +/-"

In the newer versions of RH/Fedora you can configure the screen resolutions with "redhat-config-xfree86" - also accessible through the "system settings" menu.

Hope this helps...

If you have XFree 4.3 or above you can use the xrandr tool. This will also resize the desktop.

It's graphical in the latest versions but that version of RHEL is quite old.
