changing partition size

i am installing kali linux on an old Asus Eee PC netbook, and i got to the partitioning portion and no matter what i choose i can't seem to get the / partition bigger than 10GB.

So now i have 10gb for / , 147gb for /home and 2gb for swap.

once its done, can i use fdisk to extend the volume?

you might want to install ON AN ENCRYPTED DRIVE !!!
use the entire disk as an encrypted LVM
http://docs.kali.org/installation/ka...d-disk-install

you really DO NOT want information from the use of Kali to be used against you by the LEA's

You can, but you'll get in more trouble than you can handle - use gparted.
