Changing my Resolution

Hey, IM running Mandrake 9.1 and I want to change my resolution. When I go to the Mandrake control center, and then hardware, and then change resolution, and select the 1024 res, it tells me i have to log out and back in. I do that, and it is still 800x600. Is there another way to change it, like, through a terminal?

Thanks,
Matt

I think that the resolution for X is held in /etc/X11/XF86Config, you may be able to change it here... however if it doesn't want to go to 1024 maybe you should try looking at the configuration of your monitor before (and the graphic card if it's not already done)

good luck
