Changing linux languages


Hi, me again with another two questionss. Everytime i startx i get into german settings for some reason, i have to click on US and everything will be fine, but is there a way to change that permenetly? I remmember when i first booted up with the user i changed my preferences to US and all that.

also how and where do i control my sound level?

Ok, got that figured out, right-clicking and going to configure and changing the primary layout to US. (that was hard

also i figured out where i set up my sound is and how to add it to my panel.
