changing host name

When I configured RH9 I set up my host name as alltel. I must have thought it was asking for my isp. How do I change it and what would be a logical name?
Not a big deal but it bugs me...

You can change it in the /etc/hosts file. You can set it to whatever you want.

I think you might be able to change it in the GUI with redhat-config-network. Otherwise edit your /etc/hosts file and create an /etc/hostname file with just the hostname in it.

Code:
# Celeron 850 tinwhistle /etc/hosts file
127.0.0.1	tinwhistle	localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.0.1 tinwhistle
192.168.0.2 uilleann
192.168.0.3 bones
My /etc/hostname file:
Code:
tinwhistle
A logical name would be a name that you like to use for your computer. Personally, I never liked the name My Computer....

If the old hostname returns after reboot, just edit /etc/sysconfig/network and change HOSTNAME to whatever you want. I believe RH9 reads that file on bootup.
