Changes in FSTAB now unable to login.

Dear all,

I have created a new partition and saved it in FSTAB with wrong information. Now i rebooted the machine but it is displaying as in black screen
Give root password for maintenance
(or type ctrl-D to continue):

I have given the root password then it is showing as
bash: /usr/bin/id: No such file or directory
bash: [: =: unary operator expected
(Repair filesystem) 1 #

Now what i have to do i am unable to login and also i haven't took backup of FSTAB file..
Please help me to get out of this issue..

Hi

You will have to use a live cd.
As root mount your root partition hen you can edit or change your fstab file.
Umount partition and reboot.
