i just changed from mandriva le 2005 to ubuntu 5.04
i probably messed up during the install stage, so when ubuntu loads up, i am without my old partition.
the partition i want is called hda6
i edited my fstab to include /dev/hda6 (cause it shows up under /dev), and the mount point was at /home .
when i rebooted and tried to login, /home/dimarco couldn't be found. i went into failsafe terminal mode, and i could see all my old data, but couldn't log in to gnome.
since then i changed the mount point to something else, everything went back to normal except for the fact that i still can't get to hda6 anymore.
how do i get hda6 to be accessed from gnome?
Code:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/hda5 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/hda6 /homed ext3
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
theres my fstab. everything o the line /dev/hda6 i added myself(without really knowing what i was doing)
any ideas?
