change UTC to EST time zone.

I want to change from UTC to EST time zone in RedHat Linux 7.2 or 7.3. When I type "date", I want the time to be in EST and not UTC. I want timestamps on files to be in EST and not UTC.

My hardware BIOS clock is set to correct local time (EST). redhat-config-date shows the correct local time (EST). I looked at the man pages for "date", and it is not at all obvious how to change the system time zone.

How do I change from UTC to EST time zone?

Thanks for your help.

If I understand your idea, timeconfig can change the system's time from UTC to localtime ... at least if you have timeconfig on your system ...
