Change distro/uninstall - MBR

What happens to the MBR if distros are changed, or even deleted? Does each Linux install simply overwrite each other - leaving XP's MBR intact?

Cheers

Each installation will want to overwrite the MBR, if you need to restore your XP MBR I believe you have to boot using the install cd and then run the program 'fixmbr' but you should run a search on this site for this as it is not a new question
