change desktop resolution
 

my application requires 1280 X 1024 resolution. i am using redhat linux 9 version. system is not accepting this resolution. pl. help how to trouble shoot this problem.

Could you please describe what you have done so far to try to get it working? Did you get an error message or something that you could post up to help us diagnose this?

Could you post up the bit from your xorg.conf that is called Section "Screen", so that we can check to make sure that you have the correct display mode set there.
