change cursor shape in gnome-terminal


greetings to all,
i am new to linux, i installed red hat linux on my computer.
how can i change my gnome-terminal cursor from block size to underline.
please help me

open gnome-terminal and go to /Edit/Profile Preference

The ability to change the cursor shape has been introduced in gnome-terminal version 2.25. It is under Edit --> Profile Preferences --> General tab, as suggested above. Older versions of gnome-terminal haven't got this option.

thanks, but i tried all the options in "preferenses" u mentioned but there is no option such as "Cursor Shape : Underline/Block" like fedora 10. Please help

As I previously mentioned, the ability to change the cursor shape in gnome-terminal has been (re)introduced in version 2.25. If you have an earlier version, I'm afraid you've no chance, unless you upgrade to a newer GNOME release.
