CentOS Sendmail

I have a CentOS box that uses sendmail for notifications. By default, I understand it sends them to the MX record of the domain i.e. mail.example.com

How would I go about changing that to a specific IP xx.xx.xx.xx?

If I have to configure a service.switch file for sendmail, what would be the format of that?

Hi,

You should use mailertable to do what you want. If you have to use ip address instead of fqdn, the syntax is:
Code:
example.com esmtp:[x.x.x.x]

What you mean by service.switch? IF you mean a startup file that is used when you run "service sendmail start", I guess it's already set when you installed sendmail
