CentOS/RHEL & PHP5 support

I've been running CentOS 4.1 (RHEL 4.1) for a year or two. The available yum repository packages for this version only go to PHP 4.3.9. , but I now nee to support PHP5.

II have tried to figure out if CentOS 4.4 might support PHP5, but I can't find it listed anywhere (didn't this information use to be on distrowatch)?

It seems CentOS5(RHEL5) does support PHP5, but do I have any other option to get PHP5 support on my system?

You could compile php5 from source or enable the centosplus repo for CentOS 4 and install php5 using yum.

Well kool, thnx. I tried the centosplus repo and unless I am doing something wrong, it seems there are php 5 extensions, but the root php package is still only 4.3.9.

I guess I just need to figure out how to compile it.
