CentOS 6.0: unable to start gnome due to an incomprehensible error

Hello,

I installed gdm and gnome in CentOS 6.0 (it is a domU guest in XEN but this is not important, it is just for information) and I am not able to see the gnome session after entering the "startx" command.
What I see is this image.
I guess it is something related to the language or charset.

Could somebody help me to solve this issue please?

EDIT: I could see an error in the console, that could be related to this issue:
Code:
gnome-session[1925]: Pango-WARNING: failed to choose a font, expect ugly output. engine-type='PangoRenderFc', script='latin'

OK, the problem has been solved performing the following command:
Code:
yum install xorg-x11-font*
but now the only thing I can still see is this: an empty desktop.

EDIT: even this problem has been solved with the following command:
Code:
yum install gnome-panel.x86_64 nautilus.x86_64
