centos 5 firewall.router blocks all internet traffic going out


am very new to linux and ihave a pc with centos 5 configured as a router and firewall yesterday itried to open ftp port using lokkit command and i dont remember making any changes to it now when i reconnect it back to the switch no internet though ican be able to browse directly from it.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

check your iptables, port 80 is most likely blocked.You must save iptables rules you apply then restart for it to be permanent.
