Cedega, is it worth the move?
 

Alright, I've been using windows for about six years now. While I'm geting seriously tired of using it and I have been looking at Linux for a while now. I even actually installed a copy of red hat, that didn't last long though. One of the main (and probably the only) thing holding me back from going to linux is gaming. While these days I'm doing more programming (I will die with PHP stamped on my grave) gaming is still a big part for me. This has been lessened somewhat by the fact that ut2004 runs native and half-life 2 has been announced for linux. Still though, I have a massive game collection and I don't want to be unable to use it. I'm also not really interested in dual partitioning, as I've tried that, and its hell. I'm putting together a new computer and I haven't got a new license of XP yet, so I was thinking this might be the time to try a switch. I've heard about the new release of WineX, which I've been watching for a while, and honestly damn, it sounds good. Basically what I'm asking is it worth it at this point? I'm edgy because I'm not sure if everything I have will match up, plus I have nilch experiance with Linux. I've been looking at Mandrake 10.0, and it looks like it might be a little nicer. Anyway, I'm just want some feedback. Thanks.

First off, I haven't heard Half-life 2 being ported to Linux. YOu must be thinking of Doom 3.

Second, WineX 4.0 (Cedega) is NOT perfect and, for me, is not worth the switch away from Windows XP. If you want to continue gaming, like I do, then continue dual booting and keeping your Windows XP.
