cdrom problem
This is bugging me now. I'm starting out with kernel 2.2.14. When I install from cdrom all work out fine. But once the install is done, the cdrom stops working. So I upgrade the kernel. The logic is: upgraded kernel...new device drivers. The man pages help with upgrading the kernel, so have the howtos but I can't fix this....any ideas?

Use mount /mnt/cdrom
Is the cd ok? To unmount use umount /mnt/cdrom If this does not work look into /var/log/dmesg (logs from the last boot, there will be all eroors) |
Could you give us more details ?
What do you call "cdrom is not working" ? - unable to ls the content ? - unable to mount the cdrom ? - the system hang while reading the cdrom ? - ... Patrick |
do you have an entry for your cdrom in /etc/fstab? if so, what does it look like?
have you tried kwikdisk (cant remember if it comes with mdk 7.0 or not)? |
