There is no filesystem to mount.

Mount always uses an organized storage. The filesystem then describes how to retrieve data.

No filesystem, no organization, thus mount fails. What you have is equivalent to an audio disk... You can get the data back using "dd if=/dev/cdrom of=filename". As to whether it is usable I don't know.

Are you sure the the disk is actually mounted? You have to select master mode in windows 7+ to burn as a ISO9660 file system otherwise it burns as a live file system (UDF) which depending on version may not be compatible with linux.

I'm assuming the OP actually burned a data disk - in which case it wouldn't have UDF or ISO9660. Either of these should mount.

The OP may not of actually burned the files to disk.

True - in which case the disk would be blank. The last time I accidentally tried that the system reported it a possibly being blank - as mount tries to read the header blocks to see what filesystem is on it. If it gets no data, it asked "blank disk?".
