Question cd-rom problems

I had some problem with my cd-rom

I've already had someproblems with it. see: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...threadid=25314

But then, I have another problem: I can now acces it but I have a new error: Could not enter: /mnt/cdrom

what do I have to do?

Does that directory exist ?? And do you have permissions to access it ??

What are you doing when you get that error ? Like what command are you performing ?

The permission of /mnt/cdrom/ is:

drwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Jul 15 14:44 cdrom/

but when I go in konquerer, the icon of the directory: /mnt/cdrom has a lock on it and its a locked folder

i had same problem with upgrade from redhat 7.1 to 7.2 - very strange. even with user there. upgrading from 7.1 to *.2 i just needed to add user to fstab but if it's a clean install that would not solve the problem. system was left at 7.1

So, because my shortcut don't work and I can't access /mnt/cdrom/, I open a terminal to try to go to /mnt/cdrom/. So I typed :" cd /mnt/cdrom/ " but then, an other error appear!! : " bash: cd: /mnt/cdrom/: Input/output error "

What do I have to do to read my cd's???

you don't access audio cd's, just run your Audio CD player and play the cd!
