Question CD-ROM or CD-RW?

I'm putting together a machine. The last item I need is a CD-ROM. However, I found a CD-RW drive for about the same price. I tried once before to create a Linux box with a DVD and CD-RW and switched to CD-ROM. If I used only a CD-RW, would that be a problem?

the only difference is that in LILO you add the line: hdx=ide-scsi ,where X is your drive.

Everything else is the same. So its not hard.

If you want a simple burning program, K3B is just like Roxio, so its pretty easy.

I suggest you look up the drive in some newsgroups, forums, and google searches and see if people are having problems with it though, just to make sure. You should do this w/ all your hardware anyway.

And for DVD drives, they are set up the exact same way as a CDrom drive, the only difference is you can read DVDs (duh)
