cd rom not there after RH9 install


I installed RedHat 9 wiith the cd and after there is no cdrom. is there something I have to do?

That's mighty thin information there.

Did a spaceship come in and beam it out of there?

How do I read the cdrom?

Open a terminal and:

$ su
(password)
# mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
# cd /mnt/cdrom
# ls
(then, when you're done)
# umount /dev/cdrom
# exit
$

Well, that's one way.

When I try to run that I get an error message...........
mount: special device /dev/cdrom does not exist

well if you installed the redhat with the cd, obviously, redhat knows there's a cd there.. maybe you changed something on accident? I would suggest trying to partition and reinstall (if needed, download mandrake if it doesn't work again), but like itsjustme said, more information please.
