Unhappy cd-rom is dead

my cd-rom does not answer.

I was working well, and suddenly it does not work anymore.

What could it happen?

Are you getting any error messages? Which distro are you running? Have you mounted your CD?

I am really new in linux, what is a distro.

I reset my machine and its works again

distro - distribution as in Redhat, Mandrake, Slackware etc....

Glad it is working now.

However, it is nice if you post as much info as possible in your first post including error messages. Just saying something doesn't work and wanting help is extremely vague. Otherwise, we have to ask a lot of dumb questions.
