Unhappy cd rom D drive disabled how to enable D: drive


I had a virus removed and ended uo with no D drive-cd rom has power, but system say`s there is no cd rom hooked up.any input would be greatly appreciated. also does anyone know what `winhound` is. Im operating on windows 98 on an older compaq . Any info on how to re-enable d drive? Im not using this Linux system I just need help thanx

a simple google search came up with this regarding windhound.

i'm guessing you had a virus removed on a windows machine? so what linux distro are you using that you don't have a cd-rom available then?
