Cd > Iso

I've seen a few threads on ISO info but I was wondering if we could attack the smaller, beginning problems.

do I need mkisofs to make a ISO image of a CD in my drive? or is their a built in function to do this?

I found a window 95 CD at a local garage sale and want to ISO it for historical perposes

Any info on creating an ISO from an already exsisting CD would be excellent. Until then, I will continue my search in the forum.

just use a front end like eroaster to copy an image from a cd. i *think* you might be able to just use dd to make an iso:

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/tmp/cd.iso

K, i read the entire man for dd and have one question it did not answer. If copying /dev/cdrom contents to and iso copies all the contents, does it also include boot sector info? I would like the ISO to contain the bootable info cuase floppies are old skool.
