cd command not working in .cshrc file (bash shell SUSE Linux)

Hello Experts,

Just trying to execute cd command in a .cshrc file (bash shell in SUSE Linux). But it says."No such file or directory".
Do you see any reasons for this?
Appreciate your valuable inputs.

Thanks much,
Jaili

Hi and welcome to LinuxQuestions! Indeed the syntax of cd is the same for both the shells. It would be useful if you posted the exact offending command (or eventually the whole .cshrc file) and the complete error message.

Re: cd command not working in .cshrc file (bash shell SUSE Linux)

Hi,
Thanks very much for your reply.
Now I tried the cd command in .bashrc file instead of .cshrc and it is working fine.

Now it is clear that for bash shell we need to work only with .bashrc file.

Regards,
Jaili
