This site is full of all kinds of information. A search will usually reveal quite a bit, the button to search is located in the upper right corner of the page. If you don't find something, feel free to post up about it. Other great tools for finding information for linux: www.google.com/linux

If you just want to play DVD movies on your computer, I think the simplest player to install and run is Ogle. There are step-by-step instructions for installing on red hat here:
