Cap and Scroll lock flashing
 
Hi,
I installed Mandrake 9.1 and installed pctel-0.9.6 so i can use my modem. But sometimes when connecting to the internet using Kppp (the only way i know how to) the PC hangs and the Caps and Scroll Lock starts flashing and i have to cut power.

Is this because i installed pctel drivers if so are there any alternative? or is it a problem with Kppp configuration?

When i installed pctel-0.9.6 i had to use Insmod -f because i was getting an error about the compiler.

ps. when the lights start flashing is it possible to get back to linux

that is prolly just X borking at ya. In other words, the GUI server is nasty and screwed up. instead of rebooting, try CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE, and if that doesnt work, then it sounds more like a windows error to me...lol
