Do tell us more. Do you use disk, partition or file encryption? What are the error messages you encounter doing what?

*And BTW please don't post duplicate threads.

almost every distro has pgp
but without a lot more information
there is no way we can even begin to help

what is this unknown "disk" ?
you do not need k3b to copy data off a dvd data disk
just copy it to a folder, just like you would do on a windows computer

if it is a movie dvd
well - forum rules prevent us from helping you break the law

While you may have become frustrated because things don't work like you want that doesn't give you any reason to take it out on a fellow LQ member the way you did here.
I suggest you concentrate solely on fixing your problem. Should the DVD be crippled by a protection scheme then indeed circumvention of restrictions isn't a LQ topic.

we do not even know the operating system you are using

VLC has the needed software to play a store bought dvd ( it has the decryption software in it )

install the VLC player on your operating system
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

playing a video using the css encryption is one thing
that we can help
ripping the dvd to make a copy -- that we can not

And since you didn't bother telling us that you were just trying to play a DVD, how are we supposed to know?? We aren't going to guess as to what encrypted disc you're trying to decode is, what version/distro of Linux you're using, or what your goals are. If you can't ask a clear question, don't expect a clear answer. And you also need to spell out your words...that text-speak junk doesn't make anyone want to try to decipher it to answer you, especially when you give nasty answers.

There are many, MANY easily-found how-to guides on Google for DVD ripping, using Linux. Putting "how to rip a dvd in linux" into Google pulls up lots:
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-...free-with-VLC/
http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-...-software.html

Several easy-to-use software options, all ready to go on Linux, and ready to rip/play DVD's.
