Cant shutdown puppy linux aka Linux 2.6.33.2(i686)

sometimes also it wont start up correctly and I have to do the reboot command because everything loads with done next to it, except for setting up services. Then Sometimes I will be prompted with the "#" after all this and am forced to use the "reboot" command. Then when I try to shut down it does but then right away puppy linux comes back up. I have no idea how this started to happen. Is there a way to repair my installation? Please help!

it is puppy lucid v. 5.2.8

Is this a frugal install?

no its a full install. is this error common with frugal installs?

No. It's just easier to fix with a frugal install by deleting the personal save file with a puppy pfix=ram boot.

On a full install. I guess because I don't run full installs on my boxes. You could try the boot cheatcode

puppy pfix=clean or puppy pfix=purge

where and how do you do that because I keep getting a command not found when i try to do it in console

Boot cheat codes are given at the boot puppy screen. A live cd boot should be able to handle this. I hope. Like I said. I don't run full installs of Puppy linux. Just frugal installs.

Note: The below statement was done in a live cd session. Hardrive was probably mounted with pmount. Then all content in /tmp folder was deleted.
