I decided to take an old Canon BJ200 parallel printer out of the closet and hook it up directly to this system. However, using YaSt it did not autodetect it so I configured manually.
There is a connection and the com test works but after picking the make and model ... no printing.
The test print does not work.
Although when I stop the test the printer does react but doesn't print.
I used kwrite and sent a job out. I opened the queue and notcied the job processing then disappears ... like the page was printed.
Turns out the the canon bj200 is not supported as per the suse hadware database. I plugged in a hp940c, started suse and it gave me a new hardware found. I installed it from there and it works.
