cant play you tube videos in opera

I seem to be having trouble playing youtube videos in opera 9.64 on an eeepc with an external monitor and running Xubuntu 9.04. I have checked all the required paths and the other requirements and everything seems to be OK but still cant play an video content. If i run opera from a terminal i get the follwing error:

opera: X Shared memory extension is not available. ZPixmap not supported
Not GTK2 toolkit (got 0).
Not GTK2 toolkit (got 0).
Not GTK2 toolkit (got 0).

Could this be the problem and if it is how do i go about fixing it. Any help would be much apreciated.
