can't mount the iso image file

I created an iso image file by using "clone copy" in k3b from my VCD.

then I type following commands in the terminal:
sudo mount -o loop -t iso9660 a.iso /media/cdrom

then I got the output:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

what should I do?Any suggestion will be appreciated

Try leaving off the -t, as in:

mount -o loop disk1.iso /mnt/disk

The k3b "clone copy" option doesn't produce a iso9660 file. I believe it's actually using the cdrdao disk image command, which uses some kind of dedicated format, but I'm not 100% sure. There doesn't seem to be any direct way to mount them in any case.

You can convert the image to iso9660 with the tool iat. And you can use the "normal copy" mode with the "save image" option to get k3b to produce iso9660 images.

Yes,the image file isn't iso9660 image file but cdrecord clone image file.I have used iat to convert the cdrecord image to iso9660 image.

Now I can mount the iso file.
