Cant mount cd rom in slack


It keeps giving me a error

Try from a command-line, also post /etc/fstab ...

From fstabs content, check what /dev/cdrom
is pointing to, e.g.
ls -lL /dev/cdrom

it almost logs me in but then goes back to saying x11 session manager is starting up, and freezes there.

im almost about ready to change distros cause slack has been giving me nothing but trouble.

What changes to xorg.conf did you make this time? :)

nothing see thats the thing, I made changes to fix my resolution for my moniter and fix my mouse setting so at least my corded mouse would work, and i rebooted a few times and nothing was changed since.

If I know ONE thing about slackware it's that it
DOESN'T make modifications without user inter-
action ... many other distro's may, not slack.

Did you make any PHYSICAL changes to the box?
Swapped mice, keyboards or video-adapters?

If hotpluging turns up with something other than
X expected that could explain it.

There was only one other thing i could think of and that is I took away a # for telenet something or other in this file that my best friend and linux expert told me to do so i could create a user name and password so he could log in to my machine but that is it...

I am downloading SuSe 9.1 personal.iso right now.
