can't install software offline on ubuntu 8.04

when i download realplayer.deb in other computer ,use flashdisk transmission this file into my computer, and then double clike , but doesn't work anymore, there is no response. please anyone help me install a softeware to play mp3,rmvb,etc. and it would be install offline , thank you !
