Question Cant install Mplayer


when i type in ./configure --enable gui

it does its stuff then says :

Error: X11 support required for GUI compilation

Check "configure.log" if you do not understand why it failed.


so i check it and i dotn understand jack shit.

im using Redhat 9.0 Professional Workstation

i installed all the right libpngś maybe i need the src? file instead ?

plaese any help would be appreciated

You need to install some development packages, starting off with xlibs-devel (which provides X11 headers so you can compile GUI programs). You may need to install more packages as well - libpng-devel and so on.
