cant install epson dx6050 in ubuntu

I am very green to linux and am stumbling around trying things at the moment. Have tried the print driver ubuntu picked up automatically but the colours come out on seperate lines. Am trying to install a gutenprint driver for the above. Have tried cups local host 631 but dont get any output. print job just stops. Any suggestions please.

Epson dx 6050 may not be included in Kudzu database, so it cannot be installed search for rom packages for it to install.
