Angry Cant get the Suse 9.0 disc to install, please help?

Hello Everyone,
I have tried adding memory, changed 3 different Cd-Roms, Updated the BIOS, and still wont boot the CD to install. I was wondering if there was any other way to get the installation to work, I tried burning an ISO image and couldn't get that to work before I bought the CD's. Its on a Dell Optiplex Gxi , 166 mhz, 64mb Ram, 2- 2gb hard drives one is empty the other is running Windows 98. I wont even care if it wipes out Windows I just want to get Linux up and running , Still wanting to join u all in the Linux World Thanks for all the great info u all give out here

OH btw I'm wondering if I could take the hard drive out of the Old Dell Pentium and put it in newer machine just to install , then put it back in the old computer? The other computer is Celeron 366, 256 ram, , then change the settings from the configuration in the install?...Sorry I am new at this and am just grasping..heehee Thanks again

The problem is that when you boot from CD #1 nothing happens? Try starting with CD #2. Is this an Aopen CD drive?

Installing onto the hard drive on another machine and swapping it back will almost certainly work. I've done this several times.

Is there logs? Go to YaST2->misc->View start-up log and View system log.

Booting from the pro DVD there is a system doctor tool. It has great auto fixing functions. See what it recomends.
