cant get tftp to run-- RH9

i downloaded a tftp-server begins to install--gets half way and gives up..

module dependencies-- apparently glibc is needed--here is my problem--using RH9 up2date-- when i try and download the glib
RPMs, i get a failure notice--
dont know where to go from here-- this is my first linux box..
i am thouroughly pleased with all the performance of this linux reguardless-- it looks like there is no registry-- thank u God..
any help would be appreciated--

RH9 is old. Probably unsupported. Upgrade to a current distro. FC4, Suse 10, mandrive 2006, etc
