Cant get internet connection
I an completely new to Linux and bought the current copy of Computer Active with a 'how to', plus a Ubuntu 8.10 disk on it.
I have installed the system alongside Windows XP on my 2.8ghz system
I have a Netgear WPN 111 USB gadget which accesses the net via broadband.
I cannot get this to work with my Ubuntu as yet.
I have googled this and downloaded what I hope is ndiswrapper-1.53.tar (though it is only 193kilobytes.)
However I dont seem to be able no matter what I do to get the recommended synaptic programme to even recognise this programme and wha is meant by Driver Disk - do I need the original Windows disk for ndiswrapper to work properly??
Any help to get this up and running would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
