Can't get Google Earth to work on Kubuntu Hardy
Well I'm a newbie and I don't know what "kernal" I'm using. Not sure what that is?
By not working I mean it doesn't get any farther then starting to initialize, then it shuts down an disappears off my screen.
I've tried many methods of installing. I've used Adept and requested install from there. Two different versions and no go.
I went to a site that was called "How to install Google Earth on Linux". Tried to follow the steps there and when I got to a point where a Google Earth GUI popped up it was completely different from the GUI that they showed on the site. Meaning it was missing an install button.
Another one I tried put a .bin file on my Desktop but when I tried to use the Konsole to install, it said there was no file or bin .
At present I have a blue cogwheel icon on my Desktop that says Google Earth but when I click it I get the following message: " The desktop entry file/home/darrell/Desktop/Google-googleearth.desktop has no Type=... entry " (minus the quotes of course)
So thats where I'm at right now.
Anything to suggest?
