cant find the ' ' on the keyboard

i am trying to remaster knoppix 3.6. I have a UK Keyboard. I have got to the stage where you can dpkg-query -l to see a list of packages installed. Because the list moves fast i want to slo it down. I have booted into runlevel 2 and i cant find the '|'. I know that on the uk keyboard its 'altgr' and the key below the 'esc' and next to '1' on the keyboard. As i am running in 'runlevel2' the '|' will not appear when i press the right keys. Please can someone help

maybe AltGr+[ for ' I found that listed on an unicode page but they did not show anything for the | character.
