How did you try to re-start X, using startx?

Do the grep command again and paste the new results.

Hmm, strange, no error message. Can you reboot? If you still get dumped into the console, do the grep command again and paste the output.

If X won't start, but there's no error message, I don't have any idea what to do, sorry. Perhaps look for warnings in addition to errors the logfile:
Code:
grep '^([EW][EW]' /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Oh dear, that doesn't mean anything to me. Can you post the whole Xorg.0.log file? Maybe we will find something useful there. Also when you run "startx", do you get any output from that?

I'm sorry, I've lost track of what isn't working, can you describe what the problem is now - does startx change the display to a graphical display? What does it look like? If it does switch to a graphical mode, does the mouse move the cursor? What happens if you right click on the background?

I'm sorry, I've lost track of what isn't working, can you describe what the problem is now - does startx change the display to a graphical display? What does it look like? If it does switch to a graphical mode, does the mouse move the cursor? What happens if you right click on the background?
Yes startx changes to graphical Display
Yes the mouse moves
when pressing the right click a menu pop up !!
