Yeah at the same place in OpenSuse try F5 safe settings see if that will help.

That video card you have has some issues so if it is built into the MB if you can get a Nvidia card you wouldn't have any problems installing.

Surely, maybe i'm missing something here but, you could disable power saving in the ubuntu livecd or just use the alternate CD. What's happening seems to be the PC goes to sleep, then you pressed the power button, which would surely give the shutdown command in Ubuntu, hence why you see the 'remove cd' dialogue, as thats what it says after you shut the live cd down.
